• Bayeux self guided walking tour. City was remarkably not damaged during the Battle of Normandy.
• Visited Tapisserie De Bayeux museum. Contains 70 meter long tapestry telling the story of the Battle of Hastings in 1066. It was commissioned by William the Conqueror King of England, Duke of Normandy.
• Walked to the Cathedral of Bayeux. Beautiful Romanesque and Gothic splendor built in 1077. Two candles, one for the people that died during Battle of Normandy and one for all my family members.
• Rode Petit tourist train of Bayeux around city.
• Went to Battle of Normandy museum and cemetery where near 4000 British soldiers were buried.
• 4:30 pm Back at apartment for rest and glass of cider. Restaurants don’t open until 6:00.
• I drink cider with a snack. Don drank wine without snack. He has to go feed the parking meter, when he was getting up, he was staggering a bit. I hope he makes it to the car and back okay. 🤪
• Nice dinner at restaurant across from our apartment, La Fringale. I had the “beef bourguignon”. It was ok, not great.
